Good to know: our accessories
What are bellows made of?
In the standard version, the bellows are made of PN-100 or PN-200 material and are secured at both ends with galvanised clamping bands. At extended lengths AL > 1000 mm, the bellows are fitted with extension stops that prevent the individual bellows segments from overstretching.
In an inclined or horizontal mounting position, bellows with a stroke length of 400 mm or more must be manufactured with support rings in order to prevent them from catching in the thread grooves.
What is the function of a short safety nut?
How do you minimise the risk to people when using screw jacks?
If screw jack elements are used in theatre stages (VBG 70), lifting platforms (VBG 14) or lifting systems where people are at risk, the lifting elements are designed in accordance with the current regulations. Among other things, the fall protection (self-locking screws and/or mechanical safety brakes in the drive) and, where required, the synchronisation device are ensured by additional components.
Why are plummer blocks used?
The plummer blocks are there to support long cardan shafts at high speeds. Depending on the length and speed of the cardan shaft, one or more plummer blocks are installed one behind the other. The plummer blocks with self-aligning ball bearings are maintenance-free.
What purpose do handwheels serve?
The handwheels are used to adjust and fine-tune the screw jacks by hand. The handwheels are designed as spoked wheels
made of cast aluminium. The handle is rotatable.
